GBA Rallies Tremendous Support for Legal Aid of NC
On April 11, 2026, the Greensboro Bar Association gathered at Boxcar Bar + Arcade for its annual Legal Aid Fundraiser, an evening dedicated to celebrating the vital work of Legal Aid of North Carolina and rallying support for its mission to serve communities across the state, and specifically our local Greensboro office’s efforts for the triad in particular.
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, law firms, and members of the Bar, this year’s event was a resounding success, raising an impressive total of over $25,000. The achievement reflects the Association’s ongoing commitment to advancing access to justice and supporting Legal Aid’s critical efforts throughout North Carolina.
Now in its third year at Boxcar, the fundraiser once again brought together legal professionals and their families for a lively night of connection, entertainment, and community spirit, including a silent auction showcasing a variety of items generously donated by local businesses and members of the Bar. The evening was further enriched by heartfelt remarks underscoring the essential role Legal Aid plays—especially in the face of ongoing funding challenges.
Just days later, at the Greensboro Bar Association’s membership meeting on April 16, 2026, the funds raised were formally presented to Janet McAuley-Blue, Managing Attorney of the Greensboro office of Legal Aid of North Carolina. These contributions will directly support their work providing essential legal services to some of the Triad’s most vulnerable individuals and families.
The Greensboro Bar Association extends its sincere thanks to everyone who made the event possible—from sponsors and donors to attendees and bidders. Special recognition goes to event Co-Chairs Jeanna Cooper and Emily Carico, whose dedication and leadership brought this meaningful evening to life.
