Annual CLE for Members and Non-members Feb. 18

Our Virtual ANNUAL CLE is being held on Thursday, February 18 via Zoom. It will begin at 1:10 PM (immediately following the February member meeting at 12:30) and run until 5:30 PM.
This 4-hour program (approval pending) will include a special presentation about the legal history of Jim Crow laws in North Carolina, the required substance abuse hour, a refresher on trust account management, a legislative update and a judges’ panel focusing on systemic racism and implicit bias in the justice system.
The discounted registration is $110 for GBA members and $130 for non-members.
The non-discounted price (after February 11) is $130 for GBA members and $150 for non-members.

What do you know? We’ll find out when you join the GBA for Virtual Trivia Night. Test your skill in this warm up to an anticipated Battle of the Bars rematch with the High Point Bar Association.
The food and drinks are on you (because you will be playing from your living room) but the fun is on the GBA!
Registration is required. Limited to 30 players.
Members registered as individuals will be randomly assigned to a team upon arrival. Members wanting to form their own team of 4-6 players should ask one teammate to register and add each team member (and their email address) to their reservation as a guest.

Employees reportedly received positive tests result for COVID-19. We believe these individuals were last in the Guilford County Greensboro Courthouse on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday, January 6, 7, 8 and 11 2021. These individuals were on the UG Level and Courtroom 4C of the Guilford County Greensboro Courthouse.

As a precaution, the known location in which this individual appeared will be cleaned and disinfected in accordance with Guilford County Public Health Division, CDC, and EPA protocols and guidance. All persons who were in the courthouse during this timeframe are strongly encouraged to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19. Please note that this notification contains general information to respect medical privacy and confidentiality.

Temporary Closure of GSO Criminal and Civil Departments

An important notice from the Clerk of Superior Court…
We are excited to announce that the Criminal and Civil side of our Greensboro office is being RENOVATED! Please bear with us during this transition. Due to all new workstations being built, we will need to close our office to everyone during this time.
• Criminal will be closing at 3pm,
effective Thursday, December 17th
• Civil will be closing at 3pm,
effective Friday, December 18th**
**Our Civil 50B department has TEMPORARILY moved to UG-17.
If everything goes smoothly, we anticipate re-opening both Civil and Criminal to everyone by Monday, January 4, 2021. During this period, ALL filings may be placed in one of the drop boxes outside the departments, or in the outside drop box located on Eugene Street next to the LG Handicapped entrance. We will have a limited number of employees here to process anything received from the drop boxes or by mail. Our High Point location will remain open during this time, if you need in-person assistance.
